SAM BRAND
Director - Team Melo EYBL
@coachsambrand
Sam Brand was a standout at Morgan State University as a player breaking every 3pt record in school history and earning all MEAC honors in his senior year during the 2004-2005 season. He then went on to join the staff on 3 MEAC Championship teams coaching in the NCAA Tournament and the NIT for the first bids in school history. After Morgan, he became head coach at his high school alma mater, The Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. Brand and his staff took a program with no championships in its history and had a 10 year stint earning 3 city, 5 regional, and 4 State Championships. During the run Brand earned a spot on the USA Basketball staff for 4 years as a court coach and learned from the best in the world. Next, Brand assumed a role as director of Team Melo (EYBL) and going into his fourth year he and his staff are looking to build off of the recent growth of the program and use their experience at the highest levels to teach the game to aspiring college student athletes.

Jarrett Ingram
Strength & Skills Trainer
@assetcreatorjjackson
Jarrett Ingram wears many hats- High School Administrator, Athletic Director, Coach, Skills & Strength Trainer, and Mentor, to name a few. Growing up in Baltimore City, the game of basketball led him to great experiences as a student-athlete at Poly, and then UMBC. After initially coaching girls basketball at the high school level in Howard County, Jarrett rejoined Sam Brand (lifelong friend/teammate) as an assistant coach at Poly in 2011-winning the school’s first ever boys basketball regional championship up to that point. Jarrett was given an opportunity to become Athletic Director at New Era Academy, a school located in one of the roughest areas in Baltimore. Jarrett’s time at New Era led to multiple firsts- the school’s first ever playoff football win (2021), first ever boys basketball JV and Varsity Division Championships (2016 and 2018), and first ever individual city and state regional champion in Track & Field (2022). Coach Ingram was either the Head or Assistant Coach for each of those athletic accomplishments. He is now an Athletics & Activities Manager at Marriotts Ridge High in Howard County, as well as a certified Vertimax trainer, using the Vertimax platform to increase the speed, explosiveness, and power of both student and professional athletes.
